Had some friends open for Petty in the mid 70s at Winterland. The opening band only got 7oz Olys at uncle bobo's venue, but Petty's Band got Heineken....for some strange reason, Petty's dressing room ended up with 7oz Olys and the pool table was scattered with empty Heinikin bottles and the common area was empty (except for the girls wanting to visit Petty's motel room) when the Heartbreaker returned the stage.

Damn the Eastbay.

Saw Petty at Fillmore during his exteded runs there in 97 and 98. Great rock band.

Also saw a preview of this line-up(Winwood too) on PBS recently. Friggin' awesome.

If you go, be ready to rock....there ain't no Stella Blue coming up. It's pop-song after pop-song. It's all really well performed though.
